member spotlight: giulia canu
is an Italian creative based in London, working as an editor for Net-a-Porter and Mr Porter for the past 3 years, focusing on the Italian market. She also freelances, offering services like styling, creative consultancy, and of course, writing. She writes , a newsletter about fashion history, inspiration, and my quest for a more sustainable way of shopping. She also makes the best tomato sauce you’ve ever tasted, and has a borderline unhealthy obsession with magazines and blazers.something you read recently you enjoyed: An old interview with Gisele Bündchen, where she recalled the time someone put glass in her shoes backstage at a runway show.
the last thing you bought irl: The latest issue of The Gentlewoman from MagCulture in East London and some chocolate-coated pistachios.
life hack: So many cool things can happen if you stop worrying about how you will be perceived.
you couldn’t have your career without: Believing in my vision.
advice for someone who wants to be where you are/do what you do: You are probably more capable than you think! Keep in mind that none really knows what the hell they’re doing anyway. This helped me a lot putting myself out there.
3 brands/people to follow:
@vautrait – A brand by Yonathan Carmel, LVMH Prize nominee. I love his work and believe it’s going to become big soon.
@lauragonzalez – A creative design studio based between London and Paris. Their work is incredibly inspiring, and their vibes are immaculate.
@mercicestvintagee – A vintage and antiques retailer based in Paris, shipping worldwide. I love their curation!
And bonus! me @yuliacnu – just because I am always down for collabs or just a chat :)
