state of the saloon

We’re ramping up for our big summer with events on the docket already: June 13 you can kick back free negronis with Quit with Jones by RSVPing to juliafharrison@gmail.com (limited spots avail!), and June 14 you can sweat out your hangover with Fireside at new downtown gallery Kalei, where they’re hosting a 45-minute Pilates class with coffee, tea, and a tour of the gallery afterwards. On June 18, we’re hosting an event with Daly PR at Cherry on Top, and while it’s at capacity, the waitlist is worth a shot.

We have events lined up for July and August…very secret still but you can expect good things. Otherwise, happy sweating, it’s finally summer!!!! <3

this week, our members are seeking:

  • connections at Goop, Bonilla a la Vista, and Natoora

  • anyone with experience in getting an online degree for a Masters in Fashion Business

  • suggestions for an ad agency that works well with small businesses and natural CPG brands

if that’s you, join our paid tier and get connected!

saloon bulletin:

  • Quit with Jones is offering saloon-exclusive invites to their event at Big Night on June 13. You can RSVP by emailing juliafharrison@gmail.com. you’ll be getting some negronis and little treats, as well as, I’m sure, a taste of cherry-flavored nicotine mints.

  • our saloon event on June 18 is sold out, but you can try for the waitlist here. We’re collaborating with Daly PR at Cherry on Top for a night of wine & camaraderie. Gift bags include Glossier, Quit with Jones, SkinFix and my new very fave Raazi tea.

  • Kayla Roolaart
joined the team at Autumn Sonata thanks to a saloon connect!

  • Jess Johnson leads a saloon writers’ group: “we meet every other week in-person, and you’re welcome to upload anything you’re working on to get feedback from the group!! It’s been super fun. if you’re interested in joining you can email me: jessrojohnson@gmail.com.”

  • A t-shirt is never just a t-shirt. It's a crush. A phase. A night that got weird in the best way. saloon member Rebecca Poole unpacks the emotional baggage of her closet for Thank You Very Much, which you can read here.

  • The Minimal Intervention Club (M. Int Club for short) is put on by saloon member Ella Smit at Community Wine and Spirits. The aim of the club is to showcase the breadth of natural wine with monthly selections from around the world, highlighting varying applications of and approaches to farming, vinification, bottling and racking, aging, cultivar expressions, and more. For $50 a month, you’ll receive two wines and a written description on the producers and wines, including guiding tasting notes. Pick up and delivery can be arranged. Sign up directly here or email Ella (ella.smit@hospitalityfarm.com ) to learn more. Cin cin! (founder’s note: I can attest this wine club absolutely rocks and eliminates all the anxiety of Picking The Right Bottle To Bring)
