a comprehensive guide to every single holiday market between now and dec 21 in nyc
Among end of year madness—the emotional wreckage done by producing content for Kendall Jenner’s home en masse, for example—one thing remains holy to me, which is the peddling of wares. I came across about forty holiday markets before it occurred to me someone should put these all together. Not me, obviously, because I’m neck deep in Kendall Jenner content. I asked my friend Kate Collins, someone who is tasteful, observant, aware of everything at once, to assemble every holiday market we could find between us into one comprehensive list.
Below are 26 markets between Brooklyn and Manhattan for you to support local artists in the coming weekends, and buy your mom a mug that’s not dishwasher-safe. For my money, I’d hit the Gem Home market (look for Rio Hito ceramics), First Bloom at Casetta (text me if they’re still doing Alison Roman’s lentil soup), Bon Studio because Olivia Weiss will be there, Nomia because they just Get It, cash in to this Natalie Weinberger pottery sale, and Lauren Sands will be repping LES Collection at this market alongside Maison D’Etto (another favorite candle brand of mine).
Nota bene from Kate: Skip Union Market, Winter Village, and Grand Central. If you must optimize for efficiency or the goal is to get all your gifts in one go, opt for Chelsea Flea, Grand Bazaar (worth the trip to the UWS), or Brooklyn Flea. I will personally be avoiding Lower Manhattan on Saturday (see: SantaCon) but choose your own adventure.
