  • I spent the weekend at the Houston Rodeo y’allllllll and I can’t overstate how awesome it was. This should be an annual pilgrimage for anyone who loves a show and/or the cultural eccentricities of America. I couldn’t stop taking photos of everyone in their completely earnest cowboy gear, ribbons laced through their cowboy boots, etc.

    la colombe d'or

I stayed at la Colombe d’Or in the Montrose district, which was unexpectedly a top 10 favorite hotel for me—primarily for the staff, who were so warm and welcoming and extremely funny...like I wanted to hang out with them. Rooms are designed after French impressionists, there’s a gorgeous dining room and bar, great food, free and substantial snacks at happy hour (talking sliders y’all…), Diptyque toiletries, clawfoot tubs, a beautiful outdoor space with yellow cabana umbrellas, and prosecco on arrival, that kind of place. If you ever find yourself in Houston, book it.

  • Really stunned by this from Justine Menard at Matter & Shape:
