  • Reminder to rolodex. I’ve been asked in the last week to locate a design writer for a Nantucket press trip, moody diaristic Substack writers for an upstate retreat, fifteen names in the lifestyle circuit for a brand dinner guest list. I get asked daily for graphic designers, film photographers, ghostwriters, social media strategists, etc. My resource? The rolodex. Next thing you know you’re on a fancy ass press list and flying for free to Nantucket for some reason. Next thing you know your boss is impressed you found 15 sexy names in 60 minutes and 14 have already RSVPed yes. Takes 30 seconds to sign up.

  • Molasses Books is dropping a quarterly June 10. This is really big news for book dorks comme moi.

  • Taylor Maki is selling her rugs at Wondering People. This is a very important mashup to me—I love everything Wondering People does (another sexy genius Euro female duo with perfect taste a la Porta) and what Taylor Maki is making doesn’t exist anywhere else.

  • I wrote a lot this week. About Laguna~B’s collabs with In Common With and Dusen Dusen, about my favorite summer camp stays upstate, and about why the Thing To Have in your space these days is a giant ass clay pot.

  • I loved this piece from the owner of Strange Delight, a seafood restaurant in Fort Greene, about the nearly impossible financial situation of being a restauranteur in NYC. My biggest takeaway: if you love a place—go back.

    The Math Doesn’t Work
I have a game I play when I walk past a closed restaurant in New York City. I try to guess how long it lasted. Butcher paper on the windows, a faded sign, a phone number that now connects you to a nail salon. How long did someone’s dream survive in that space before the city quietly swallowed it whole…

  • These taffeta plaid body pillows from Pien scratch my itch for trad-wife cottagecore disease reinterpreted in DIY downtown context.

  • I told Margaux’s In Step how I wear their Deia 50.

How to Style Margaux for Memorial Day Weekend
With the season officially kicking off this Memorial Day Weekend, we asked a few of our friends to share how they plan to style our shoes and their answers couldn’t be more perfect. Their recommendations are below. Here’s to summer…

  • The designer Rishi Assar is having a busy couple of weeks at my fave places, from exhibiting a furniture collage at Lichen in Ridgewood to debuting a collection with Public Records this weekend.

  • Julio Torres’ collection with Sabai debuted this week. I would like to own it all, from the room divider to the side table with hardwood inlay to the wack ass daybed. I am interested to see which rooms these genuinely end up in, with the side table being the cheapest in the collection, and clocking in at $2,700.

  • These sconces from Studio Valerie Name!!! Damn!!

Memorial Day sales really came through, I’m pleased to say. None of this 10% shit. We’re adults here. Working adults. My faves below, most on sale:

  • I just bought these. They’re so cute to me but in that sort of off-beat way where they’re actually not cute at all.

  • This stripey doing Saint James from Alex Mill is $50.

  • This pointelle tank from Leset is the best summer color possible imho.

  • Speaking of Leset, here’s their Yoko pant for $200 less.

  • My go-to bag for three years now is this woven number from St. Agni, which is now $240 less.

  • Little perfect bright red bag.

  • KOTN mini skirts $50, summer uniform.

  • Here’s a Jenni Kayne Demi pant dupe at J. Crew for $95.

  • These are NOT ON SALE but they’re making me SICK. I want them Bad.
