Sea Idyll, Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida (1908)
  • See some of y’all Tuesday night <3 We’re looking at about 100 RSVPs at the moment so pls come with an open mind and patience for the bar staff!

  • I spent the weekend in Rhode Island and hit a new store in Providence on the way out called Silverline. If it looks a bit like Outline, that’s because she tapped one of the founders for pointers. Abso worth a pit stop if you’re driving through, especially to lounge and have a coffee and flip through an issue of Neptune.

  • Speaking of amazing and perfect stores, Walker Street Market is another I stopped by in Lenox last weekend after a stay at Prospect Berkshires. Recognized a Jake Coan from the window and ran into works from Il Buco Vita, Underwater Weaving, and the Gordon Moore paisley lamp. If that feels inside baseball ignore me just know that it’s Perfect in there.

  • Five of you bought this shower curtain from West Elm which is making me think about the state of shower curtains…they really are all so ugly and expensive. This one is $49 and textile-ish without being in your face about it.

  • This balm from Merit in Postmodern has eclipsed all other lip stains, balms, glosses, and blushes pour moi. If you’re also freckled, pink in undertones, and selectively tan in the summer, I cannot emphasize enough how handy this $30 thing is. I keep it in my purse for two-second touch-ups throughout the day.

  • I spent last weekend (before Rhode Island…it’s been a blessed summer) in Prospect Berkshires, which was one of my favorite stays ever. Top three. I’m constantly wary of camp cosplay, but this felt so genuine. The place was teeming with couples that were actually in love and families who were so grateful to be spending time with each other. I watched dads teach their daughters to fish, toddlers hold their balance on paddle boards, siblings canoe together across the lake. I’ve never received such a great vibe from a hotel in my LIFE. In my life. The on-site restaurant is delicious, the lake is a perfect temp, there’s a pool, fire pits, saunas, yoga classes, space to write and eat and socialize in equal parts. If you’re toying with a romantic getaway, a solo writing weekend, or a place to endure your family dynamics—I would recommend this place for each.

  • Reminder that the most important event ever is happening this weekend—namely Gunk Turns Three: a fundraising party in celebration of gunk’s third birthday. Secret Riso Club. Tickets here.

  • Il Buco Vita just sent me this striped terra cotta casserole dish. It’s enormous—a powerful hosting vessel. Necessary for those of us who like to serve our guests beef and beef only.

  • Isabelle Conner just launched her brand & marketing consultancy SWIRL Projects. Perfect logo.

  • Rose Florence put together a beautiful list of Parisian art stops with 14 minds that know what they’re talking about. An important resource, esp for those of you heading to Maison&Objet next month:

The Rose Period Guide to Paris Art🇫🇷
Bonjour! Today’s newsletter is your ultimate cheat sheet to art in Paris. Museums, hidden-gem galleries, design houses, and the off-the-map stops you’d only hear about from a friend who knows. I pulled together my master list - and tapped 14 tastemakers to share theirs…
