What’s the advantage of a paid subscription?

A paid subscriber has access to:

- Newsletter: We’ve un-paywalled saloon 7 and saloon 15 so you can see what a paid subscription includes. Paid subscribers are able to see everything in the newsletter, including all the opportunities/contacts/exclusive events and discounts available through our network.

- Group chat: This chat is the lifeblood of saloon, and nearly everything in the newsletter is sourced from it. We’ve already had many success stories of folks landing jobs, collaborating for articles, curating events together (you can see our first irl event here), making friends and meaningful connections through it.

- Contacts: saloon’s contact bank is, well, huge. By joining our insider tier ($750/year), you have access to our entire Rolodex. Meaning no matter the scenario, we can put you in touch with exactly who you need.

How does the group chat work?

Our group chat is on Discord, where our members connect directly, and the source for our newsletter’s opportunities. Some examples of how it works here.

Discord is an easily navigable chatroom—think back to AOL, or message boards, or think of it like a living, breathing, interactive Reddit thread. A curated selection of industry professionals and representatives make up our Discord chat—these are people that are clued into their industries and have connections and opportunities to afford others in saloon! You can see our full member list here.

I don’t want to join the Discord, but am interested in the opportunities there.

If you’re not into the chatroom thing, you don’t need to be! Everything in the Discord is curated and streamlined to appear in the newsletter in an easily accessible format (some folks don’t like sorting through it themselves! We get it! It can be overwhelming). You’ll receive all the same intel through the newsletter.

Is this community NY-centric?

While our team is Brooklyn-based & our irl events are NYC-based, the community has representation across fifty states, in Europe as well as Australia, with communities in Paris, London, LA, and beyond.

Do you host events in person?
